Sponsored by the Women’s Leadership Council (WLC) of the United Way Washington County East (UWWCE), the miniature walking parade will offer kids a great way to get some exercise and be a part of an event that celebrates the rich history of our beautiful valley.

Kids of all ages are invited! Dress up as a LumberJack, LumberJane or your favorite cartoon character. Moms and dads are welcome as are strollers. Bicycles will not be allowed. Stick around afterwards for fun activities.

We hope to see and your family at the Little Lumberjack Parade! For more information or questions, call 439-3838. To register online, click here.

We’re also hoping the event will raise awareness of the WLC’s purpose of supporting single working mothers in Washington County. The WLC believes that working single mothers are able to provide stronger foundations for their families if they have the right resources and opportunities available to them.

The WLC’s efforts are focused on “Self Sufficiency,” one of the four initiatives of the UWWCE. That’s why we’re excited to kick off its new program, FIT (Financial Independence Together), which offers mentoring, workplace connections, and scholarships.

The WLC supports the mission of the UWWCE, which is: Uniting our communities and local resources to give each person the chance to build a better life.
